Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) are a core part of many corporate climate strategies, but expectations are changing. Customers, investors, and other stakeholders increasingly want to understand what sits behind renewable electricity claims, and whether they are supported by quality projects that deliver real-world impact. Updates to the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard, alongside potential revisions to the GHG Protocol, provide important additional context to these discussions.
Join Climate Impact Partners and EKOenergy to explore what an ecolabel can add to EAC procurement, from independent verification to impact beyond the electricity purchased. EKOenergy is a global non-profit ecolabel for renewable electricity. It is applied to EACs that meet strict environmental and social criteria, and helps fund new renewable energy projects through its Climate Fund.
